ABOUT
Leonor Silva is an emerging filmmaker, passionate about movement and emotions. A traveler at heart, she is driven by a love for exploring the world and capturing the essence of each moment. A lover of the art of transforming ideas into images, Leonor uses cinema as a means to express the complex human emotions and profound reflections that arise throughout life.
"Phantom Mind" is her first project, a work that reflects her experiences and the internal struggle with the thoughts that inhabit the mind, in a sensitive and intense narrative. This film marks the beginning of a cinematic journey where art and emotion merge in every frame.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Life made me reflect on how there are times when we can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, or when the tunnel seems to stretch on endlessly. I realized that this is a common experience, one that many of us go through, but rarely discuss. It was this reflection that inspired this project, captured in a raw state, where emotions gain their own weight.
This project was filmed in my former apartment in Barcelona, using my Sony A6700, with natural light and the available lighting in the space, including lamps and ceiling lights. To achieve the necessary height, I relied on my small tripod, chairs, and trash bins.

Key Cast: Annabel Rushton, David Kennedy
Resilience Senior Advisor: Enviromental Agency
ABOUT
Cadi started her career in a hay barn on the edge of the Cumbrian Pennines as a teenager with her sisters Bryony and Linnhe, shooting commercials for major brands until she moved to London in 2004 to work on Harry Potter and Children of Men. Since then she has worked as na animator all over Europe and the UK, working on much-loved children’s TV shows, commercials and music 16rojec. In 2021 she moved to Nova Scotia to establish the first indigenous film studio in Atlantic Canada, and is now busy making animated resources for endangered language revitalisation. She is currently based in South Wales and Donegal. This is the first 16roject made with her two sisters since 2004!
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
Making this film was an absolute joy for me because it combined two of my personal passions - wildlife and research! Twiggy was built as a lifesize, anatomically correct puppet with a huge amount of attention to detail, right down to the number of toes on each foot, though her face was gently worked into a slightly cartoonish direction around the eyes and mouth to help with the animation. She was screwed into a section of real Scots Pine tree, conveniently (albeit sadly) toppled in a storm a week prior to shooting, and I decided on a bluebell glade background to provide extra contrast with her red fur and make her really pop. Her cheerful, expressive voice actually belongs to a real scientist working in the field, and the character animator used this as a great foundation for adding bags of extra personality through physical performance. The design for the 2D elements was based on vintage naturalist field sketches, partly as a nod to Cumbrian greats such as Beatrix Potter and Wainwright, but also to give a human warmth to the information we needed to deliver. I didn’t want the messaging to be cold, flat and impersonal.
This film is one of four we shot on Bristol harbourside, using a small crew of fabulous people, all committed to sharing the important information around flooding, climate and protecting our natural habitats for future generations. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it!

DIRECTOR STATEMENT
In order not to encounter such tragedies again, individuals have duties as much as states. Painters should speak with their paintings, musicians with their music, writers with their books. I tried to express my feelings by designing a film. Much more needs to be done. We should have our own original answers to the questions and problems posed to us. We are not objects dragged by events, but the real subjects of the world. With this vision, we started preparations immediately on the evening of the day the event took place and tried to prepare an inspiring film. While preparing the film, we tried to emphasize the fact that we all need the law and that it would be impossible to live together if we did not protect it. Because throughout history, wherever there was no law or it was not applied, oppression occurred and oppressors took the initiative. Therefore, we included the names of documents that symbolize the foundations of the law of living together, such as the Medina Constitution, Magna Carta, the Declaration of Independence and the Declaration of Human Rights in the film. I believe that a legal system that can be applied equally and fairly to everyone everywhere in the world is necessary for a beautiful future. In this direction, we tried to do our part to support this idea. Because taking initiative is the right and duty of every person. This is a duty that falls on every person who believes in the supremacy of law.

SYNOPSIS
In a rapidly shifting world where borders blur and migration reshapes identities, Koné Sindou navigates the future through food. As the Executive Chef of one of Brooklyn’s most beloved restaurants, he carries the wisdom of his ancestors—farmers from a remote village in Côte d'Ivoire—into the kitchens of tomorrow. From war and displacement to reinvention in a new land, this is a portrait of his journey in a non-linear meditation on what "home" means in an era where movement defines us. This film is part of an ongoing series exploring identity of migrant, as we bridge between the past of homes left behind and future worlds we're yet to create.
CREDITS
Director, Writer and Producer: Lilly Winter
Key Cast: Koné Sindou
Cinematographer: Bernardo Gasparini
Editor: Lilly Winter
Music Score: Rokia Koné, Bookster
ABOUT
Lilly Winter is a multi-disciplinary, British/Canadian artist living in Lisbon.
Graduated with Honours from Borough of Manhattan Community College, City University of New York. Primarily focused on photography and video, Lilly's practice grew out of traveling the world solo in the face of personal difficulties surrounding home, stability and breaking free from inherited patterns. Through capturing layers of complex perspectives, her work explores existential questions about family, relationships and what 'home' really is. Her imagery invites the viewer to participate in critical dialogue, to explore the wonder of the natural world and reflect on our place within it.
DIRECTOR STATEMENT
I chose to direct this film to shine a light on the amazing journey of Koné. Whenever he walks into work, he takes the time to greet, hug and appreciate everyone in the room. His energy is infectious, and I felt that if I could help amplify his story, others could be inspired to pursue their dreams and see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Koné was at the beginning of working this new position as Executive Chef when we shot the film, this meant he was working 6 days a week. One of the challenges was finding the time to work together. Another challenge was finding a way to weave between genres of documentary and fashion editorial. I wanted the film to be led by his real life story, without being too obvious. He was a model for many years, then choose to focus on food and became a chef. I wanted to incorporate both of these sides of him as well as demonstrating the long journey he had as a displaced person and the trauma that he experienced. I had to work sensitively with Koné, taking the time to have lengthy conversation about his story. This helped to inform the decisions about what music we choose and the styling. For example, I sourced black-owned businesses to work with designers in Brooklyn that would authentically reflect the energy of his journey.
A lot of trust was built over 2 years or knowing each other. This helped us when it came to shooting, since I wanted him to move in a way that was authentic to him, rather than be too choreographed. We worked hard to create a safe container for him to explore his emotions and move in a way that felt real to him.
It's a special film for me since it speaks to an optimistic side of a very pervasive and challenging topic of displacement right now. I wanted to explore the question about what home really is, how it feels to someone so far away from their family and where they were born. Living in New York, everyone is from somewhere else, if not this generation, then only a few generation back. This film has inspired me to follow this theme and continue to create a space for displaced people to share their stories. To shine a light for others.

Using a montage of parallel worlds—fast-paced urban life and serene natural landscapes—「UN」CURRENT unravels the story of a model ensnared in an endless loop of routine and consumption. Shot with a combination of the tactile warmth of 16mm film and the crisp clarity of digital imagery, the film blurs the lines between reality and surreal dreams, where the distinction between the chaos of fast-paced living and the harmony of sustainable, slow living becomes increasingly grotesque and haunting.

SYNOPSIS
There was.. no.. is a part of me that wants to wake up from all of these one day. Maybe this world IS a lie and maybe that’s just what I WANT to believe.
There was a time when I questioned everything. Inspired by the ancient Taoist parable Zhuangzi’s Butterfly Dream, this film explores the blurred boundary between reality and illusion.
But does it matter? Whether this world is a dream, a simulation, or an undeniable reality, the answer changes nothing. It’s not about finding the truth but about existing within the unknown. Whether this is a dream or reality, a construct or the truth, the answer holds no weight. What difference does it make? Life goes on, and so do I. I simply live ‘today’.
